| Pretty
Utah-like scenery and lakes that reminded me of our vacation to Lake
Powell in 2000. We saw lots of antelope and made it to Vernal before
we stopped for gas and lunch. After the gas stop I noticed the bike
felt a little soft in the steering but wrote it off to the 100+ pound
pack behind us. We stopped a couple of blocks down the road at Taco
Bell for lunch. After we ate I looked at the bike and something seemed
off. The tire got my attention and upon a test kick I discovered that
we had a flat tire. I found a local Harley/ Suzuki dealer and called
them to see if they could help. They confirmed they had a tube and
would fit me in as soon as I could get there. Once again my father’s
lessons about being prepared paid off. I pulled out a can of “Seal
“N” Air” made by ThreeBond that I have carried around
for the last 3+ years. I have never used this stuff before and had
my doubts about how much volume/pressure a 6 oz can (about the size
of a small can of butane) could produce. Boy was I surprised. It filled
the tire to about the normal full pressure and sealed what turned
out to be a screw hole thus easily allowing us to drive a few miles
to the repair shop. Every bike needs to carry a can of this stuff.
I now carry two. |
