| Haley played
all day and participated in the KOA kids’ activities while I
did laundry, packed and hung out for the day. In the early afternoon
I went to the KOA office and asked if I could park my bike in their
maintenance garage for the weekend. I received an immediate and very
friendly “of course, just let us know when you are ready to
pull it in”. I spent hours repacking so we could just leave
all our gear and clothes on the bike and at 9pm pulled it into the
garage. About an hour later when I went to put the cover on the bike
I was met by two KOA people who said the senior Manager told them
she would not allow it due to liability issues. After 45 minutes or
so it seemed the best I could do at this late time was park it outside,
covered, in the staff parking lot. While I was putting it there one
of the staff members, a very nice and helpful young girl whose Dad
is a Harley rider offered for me to take it to her house for the weekend.
We were about to do that when the Senior manager showed up at our
cabin and said she had no idea what was going on (yea right) and would
see what she could do. I should comment that this came after I gathered
her Corporate office contact information and announced that she had
created a much bigger liability and I would send my letter of extreme
dissatisfaction as soon as I returned. She found a fenced off area
in front of the KOA where it would be very visible, close to the evening
security post and in a place no one would be allowed to go. To get
this taken care of and so I could get some sleep before our 4am wake
up time, I opted to do this. |
