Day 29 Mon 7/14	White River	Sault Ste. Marie	2pm	5:45	26,413	26,618	205	Looked like rain as we departed but we managed to stay on the dry side of the front all day. It was on the warm side but cooled down when we got near the big bodies of water.
Travel Highlights
I worked till 2am and let Haley stay up till 1am so she could sleep through most of my work time in the morning. It worked; she slept through all but about 30 minutes of my phone time and got ready while I finished up my email time. I worked from around 8am till 1:30pm today then packed so we could avoid a second day’s room fee. Today was planned as a short day knowing I had to work in the am. The view was the same corridor-like tree lined high-speed winding roads most of the way. The drag is that we have traveled hundreds of miles along the Lake Superior coastline and I expected to see lots of beautiful shoreline and interesting scenery. In the western USA and Canada they tend to build the roads along the coast and that was my expectation here. I guess that’s what I get for having expectations. You see, they decided to put the roads on this lake several hundred feet from the shores and that distance was densely covered with trees virtually the entire distance. If I have traveled 3 hundred miles near the shore I have only seen maybe 5 miles of it and a dozen or two miniature lakes. We knocked out a couple of hundred miles and landed in a large town, 75,000 people, named Sault Ste. Marie. We heard rumor of a water slide hotel and went to hunt it down upon arrival. Not a hard task considering it had a 5 ½ story spiraling water slide sticking out of its roof. We checked in and discovered it had lots more to offer. Bowling, arcade, indoor miniature golf, two pools, hot tub, sauna, Internet café, free broadband internet connections in the room and free meals for kids. All this for a about $95 US per day and only $69 with my discount. Haley played while I did laundry and made our reservations for the next few days as we approach the weekend that I am traveling back to California for a 3-day business trip. Now I am trying to get last weeks pictures ready for the site so we can get it updated Wednesday.
