Travel Highlights
Haley played with friends while I went to Grant’s pass to find a tie down strap for our bike Bagz. When I got back we were going to hit the road but Haley seemed to want to stay a second day to get a kid fix. After I decided to do this for her we found out we could not stay in the cabin so we set up our tent for the first time on the trip. Haley was willing to go if I wanted but I needed her to know her needs matter as well. She has been very considerate this way the whole week. There were about 10 kids of similar ages. She had fun but I noticed my fatherly instincts flair up when I was watching a boy a couple of years older try to control and boss her around. I managed to not interfere with the natural process but I did want to shut him down. I also realized today that I need to let go of my travel goals of getting to the east coast. We will meet Stacy and TJ but the need to cover the predetermined distance is not necessary. We just need to follow the path put before us and continue to enjoy ourselves
